This metric shows the percentage of women ages 19 and below who are pregnant. It is calculated by dividing the total number of teenage women who are pregnant by the total number of teenage women. For more information about the age categories used, see the note below.

The age categories we used from CDC (numerator) are ages 19 and below, while the categories we used from Census (denominator) are ages 10-19.

This statistic shows the percentage of total births that were premature, or less than 37 weeks. It was calculated by dividing the total number of premature births by the total number of births.

This statistic shows the population 18 years or older with a Bachelor's degree or higher according to the U.S. Census estimates. Because this calculation uses totals from multiple tables, there is some margin of error.

Race and ethnicity disaggregates are from Census table S1501, and gender disaggregates are from Census table B15001.

This statistic shows the employment density for a given geographic area. The density was calculated by dividing the total number of jobs for a given geographic area by the number of square miles in the same area.

This statistic shows the labor force participation rate, or those working or actively looking for work. It was calculated by dividing the total civilian population aged 16 and older in the labor force by the total population aged 16 and older.

Note: The Census provides incomplete data for some disaggregates, where the values appear as 0. The labor force population data does not include those who are non-civilian or in armed forces. The total population data does not distinguish whether it is civilian only.

This metric shows the rate of employment among those who are in the labor force. The calculation was made by dividing the total population 16 and older who are civilian employed by the total population 16 and older in the labor force. The labor force is defined as those 16 and older who are civilian employed or civilian unemployed.

This statistic displays the rate of evictions per 1,000 people in a geographic area. The rate is calculated by dividing the number of evictions by the total population and multiplying by 1,000.
