Individuals in poverty is defined as those whose income in the past 12 months at the time of survey response was below poverty level. The poverty rate was calculated by dividing the number of individuals in poverty by the total overall population. The Census poverty measure compares the poverty threshold with income 12 months prior to the survey response. If an individual or household's income is below the poverty threshold, they are considered to be in poverty.

This metric shows the capacity for childcare divided by the population of children under 5. Values less than 100% indicate more children than available childcare, while values greater than 100% indicate excess capacity.

Note: The data uses multiple sources and the source categories are not an exact match, as some childcare centers accept children older than 5, but the calculation only includes population data for children 5 and under. Capacity may be higher in tract and county calculations than is shown, as our ability to assign addresses to those map shapes is limited in some cases. Additionally, of the 383 child care centers with city of Tulsa addresses, 23 were unable to be geocoded and therefore are not included in the numerator of the statistic.

This metric shows the change in population from the previous year. The calculation was made by dividing the population of one year by the previous year and subtracting 1 to show positive or negative change in growth.

This statistic shows the number of housing units with a mortgage, contract to purchase, or similar debt. The percentage was calculated by dividing the total number of housing units with a mortgage, contract to purchase, or similar debt by the total number of housing units.

The metric shows the number of households with certain monthly cost ranges in dollars according to U.S. Census estimates. Estimated costs include mortgage or other debts, rent, and utilities. This statistic shows the number and percentage of renters whose rent is 30% or more of their household income. The statistic was calculated by adding the Census tables showing renter-occupied housing units with rent that is 30% or higher of household income and dividing the total by the number of renter-occupied housing units.

This statistic shows the number and percentage of homeowners whose monthly owner costs are 30% or more of their household income. The statistic was calculated by adding the Census tables showing owner-occupied housing units with monthly owner costs that are 30% or higher of household income and dividing the total by the number of owner-occupied housing units.

This statistic shows households with internet access. It was calculated by dividing the total number of households with internet access by the total number of households, according to U.S. Census estimates.

This statistic shows the labor force participation rate, or those working or actively looking for work. It was calculated by dividing the total civilian population aged 16 and older in the labor force by the total population aged 16 and older.

Note: The Census provides incomplete data for some disaggregates, where the values appear as 0. The labor force population data does not include those who are non-civilian or in armed forces. The total population data does not distinguish whether it is civilian only.
