This metric shows the registered voters in a certain area. The percentage is calculated by dividing the number of active registered voters in a given year by the number of eligible voters (citizens aged 18 and older). Note: This metric only contains data from 2020 and 2022.

DISCLAIMER: (1) Some Census tracts show greater than 100% registration when voter registrations are more than the Census estimate of the population for that tract. (2) Some Census tracts may show no data, while there still may be registered voters in the area, due to a lack of Census data in those areas prior to 2020.

This statistic shows the employment density for a given geographic area. The density was calculated by dividing the total number of jobs for a given geographic area by the number of square miles in the same area.

This index measures financial resilience, which combines six metrics (listed in source details) on a scale of 0-6. A high score (6) indicates a high level of financial resilience. Note: Data is not graphed due to lack of County-level data.

Our reference value was created by finding the values that stand out from the median for each metric comprised in the index. For each measure of financial resiliency, we identified whether the geographic area was higher than the reference value. If it was, the geographic area was assigned a 1 for that measure. For the two measures that are negative indicators (cost burden of homeowners and renters, uninsured), we assigned a 1 for the geographic areas that were not lower than the reference value. Then we added all the 1s to get the final index score. The calculation for each metric is made for each year, then the index calculation is made. We weighted each measure equally.

Caveat: Data is missing from 2019-2022 for zip code 74117 and from 2021-2022 for zip code 74171 on cost burden of homeowners and renters. The overall index score will be affected for those years and zip codes since they do not include a score for cost burden.

The Census provides an estimate of the number of households that receive food stamps or SNAP benefits. Disaggregated statistics by race and ethnicity use Census tables B22005A-I.

This metric shows the total population for a particular geographic area according to the US Census.

Each disaggregate uses a specific source table (listed below). More details can be found by accessing the disaggregate's source link.

This statistic shows the population 18 years or older with a Bachelor's degree or higher according to the U.S. Census estimates. Because this calculation uses totals from multiple tables, there is some margin of error.

Race and ethnicity disaggregates are from Census table S1501, and gender disaggregates are from Census table B15001.

This metric shows preschool-aged children enrolled in preschool. The percentage is calculated by dividing the number of children enrolled in public or private preschools by the estimated number of preschool-aged children. This estimate is described below. We used Census table B14003 to disaggregate by gender and B14007 to disaggregate by race.

Note: To estimate the total population ages 3-5, we used 40% of the value for ages 0-4 provided by the Census to exclude ages 0-2. However, this measure does have some limitations. Some 5 year-old children are still in preschool. Additionally, to calculate disaggregates, we needed to mix Census tables. Because these are estimates, the numerator and denominator of this measure may not always line up perfectly and some percentages may exceed 100%.

This statistic shows the total population that has moved from one residence to another within the same county during the past year according to the U.S. Census estimates in tables B07003 (disaggregates by sex) and B07004 (disaggregates by race and ethnicity. The percentage is calculated by dividing the population that moved within the same county by the total population in the geographic area.

Note: We perceive that decreases in this number is desirable, as in increase might be tied to displacement vulnerability and less stability in neighborhoods. While this is not always the case, those are the general implications.

This statistic shows the total population that has moved from one county to another within Oklahoma during the past year according to the U.S. Census estimates in tables B07003 (disaggregates by sex) and B07004 (disaggregates by race and ethnicity). The percentage is calculated by dividing the population from a different county by the total population in the geographic area.
